The Visual Arts Center of New Jersey recently announced that they are opening up an additional week for their popular Summer Wonder Camp. Running from June 26 through 30, just after school ends and right before most summer activities start, this week can accommodate parents who may need additional options for their children prior to the July 4th holiday. Choose one day or all five days, as this camp week is drop-in flexible by day. The Art Center's award-winning camp is open to children and teens ages five and up and is led by professional art educators with the help of student counselors. Camp is offered on a week-by-week basis, featuring a new and exciting theme every week, allowing you to sign up for several sessions during the summer!
Children will explore exciting and varied media and creative practices that enhance knowledge and appreciation of the visual arts. Projects will include hands-on activities such as drawing, painting, ceramics, sculpture, printmaking, and three-dimensional work. Each camper will have the opportunity to create up to 10 original projects each week, led by experts in the creative field. At the end of the sessions, campers will put together an art show in their homeroom studio for family and friends to enjoy. Enroll your child now to experience the wonder and fun of art this summer!
An early drop-off option is available from 8:30-10 AM for an additional fee. Register: online at http://www.artcenternj.org/studio-school/kids/kids-art-camp, by phone at 908-273-9121, or in person at the Art Center. The Visual Arts Center of New Jersey is located at 68 Elm Street in Summit and is open seven days a week.
