"State of the Arts captures the heart of New Jersey through its storytelling. I am often deeply moved and inspired by their coverage of so many compelling and creative people." Karen 'Queen Nur' Abdul-Malik, Storyteller State of the Arts goes on location with the most creative people in New Jersey-artists of all kinds, including musicians, painters, actors, writers, photographers, composers, and so many more. Our producers have won more than 30 New York and Mid-Atlantic Emmys (the latest in 2021!), and are deeply committed to New Jersey's cultural communities. All of us are excited to be out in the field again full-time, bringing you an all-new season of shows! Stories to watch for include a visit with arts leader and dollmaker Kimberly Camp, a dive into the Zimmerli Art Museum's Angela Davis exhibition, a profile of new American Repertory Ballet artistic director and former world-wide star dancer Ethan Stiefel, a preview of the new immersive, after-dark experience at Grounds for Sculpture, a studio visit with world-renowned oud player Ara Dinkjian, the making of a new play, OK Trenton, at Passage Theatre... and much more. State of the Arts is a co-production of the New Jersey State Council on the Arts and Stockton University, with additional support from the Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation, NJM, and the Friends of State of the Arts.
