Christopher Hampton's sensual play, from the novel by Choderlos de Laclos, examines two pitiless French aristocrats who are both rivals and ex-lovers, using sex as a weapon to humiliate and degrade others for their own amusement.
In ActorsNET's July 11- 27 production, the bitter Marquise de Merteuil and the seductive Vicomte de Valmont are played onstage by Stephanie Smith of Stockton, NJ, and DeLarme Landes of Doylestown, PA. Other players in this adult drama, which depicts the decadence of the French aristocracy shortly before the French Revolution, are Margo O'Moore of Dresher, PA; Mary Carmello of Fairless Hills, PA; Linda Cunningham of Yardley, PA; Paloma Burr of Princeton, NJ; and Michael Gearty and Matthew Cassidy of Morrisville, PA. Parental discretion strongly suggested due to adult themes and situations. Les Liaisons Dangereuses is presented by special arrangement with SAMUEL FRENCH, INC.
