The Piermont Business Council will once again host their annual Bastille Day Celebration on Saturday, July 14th, 2012 from noon until 10:00 pm and will feature a live performance from rising star, ALEX.

ALEX has performed widely throughout the tri-state area and Long Island and is no stranger to performing in Piermont; she has performed at the legendary Turning Point Café in Piermont. Vocal Coach to the Stars, Kenn Hicks, who has worked with the likes of JLO and Mary J. Blige, notes “ALEX possesses a wealth of zeal, passion, and compassion when she sings which are vital elements of distinction, as an artist carves out their own niche in the world of music.”

Festival goers are encouraged to show up in period clothes—think 18th-century raiment-- for a costume contest and the reenactment of the Bastille Day march capped off by fireworks over the Hudson. Last year’s event drew thousands of festivalgoers. This year’s event is sure to be bigger and better, as the fire department fair will be going on in Flywheel Park. Corporate sponsors include Moet, Hennessey’s “Grand Marnier “and Procida Funding. Piermont Avenue will be open for pedestrian traffic only during this event and the full day affair will feature cuisinefrom the finest restaurants in Piermont, serving French, Italian, Mexican, Irish, Continental and American and will extend their tables onto the sidewalk and Piermont Avenue for outside dining.
