Complete with a handsome prince, a beautiful princess, and a magical kiss, The Sleeping Beauty tells the story of Princess Aurora, who is cursed by the wicked fairy Carabosse.
Incensed at not being invited to the christening of Princess Aurora, Carabosse places a death curse on the princess. Carabosse forewarns that Aurora will grow to be quite beautiful but will die on her sixteenth birthday, after pricking her finger on a spindle. The Lilac Fairy intervenes to save innocent Aurora, using her magic to lighten Carabosse’s death wish. Instead of dying, the princess falls into a deep sleep for 100 years, only to be awoken by the kiss of a brave and handsome prince.
Often regarded as a treasured fairy tale, The Sleeping Beauty is also a struggle between the two conflicting forces of good and evil, represented by the good Lilac Fairy and the evil fairy Carabosse.
