Amplified Arts’ Company presents Stardust by Walter Kerr.
In a small New Hampshire town, at The Academy of Dramatic and Allied Arts, a group of students awaits the arrival of a famous artist who will guest star in one of their plays. The students are doing their best to “live” their art as their director, who he reminds, studied under the famed “Method” master Stanislavsky, tries to reinforce this acting technique at every turn.
Into this madhouse comes the famous actress. To the dismay of all, she is an ordinary, hard-working girl who teaches the students that there is no substitute for hard work and good sense.
This wonderful farce about “The Method,” and even Actor's Studio, allows the cast of kooky characters to poke fun at and rejoice in all the things we love and laugh at about creating live theatre!
There will be one intermission during the performance.
Produced by special arrangement with THE DRAMATIC PUBLISHING COMPANY of Woodstock, Illinois.
Directed by Shelly Hudson, AMP's Producing Artistic Director, Stardust marks the 18th production for the local production company Amplified Arts which was founded in 2015.
