Poetry, visuals, sound and music help Alan Wilbar share the story of his traumatic brain injury and his continuing road to recovery.
Following the performances, there will be discussions about TBI , related art, and other survivors.
No matter how you sustained your Aquired Brain Injury, an ABI which your Brain Injury occurred after birth, like hypoxia, illness, infection, stroke, substance abuse, toxic exposure, trauma, and tumor. Or a traumatic brain injury a TBI, which is an external blow to your head from a car accident, a fall, a closed head injury which is also known as concussions. Also Veterans who fought for our country and sustained a brain injury or even ptsd from being in the war.
The Learning Man will open up your eyes, you as the survivor and also your loved ones, to help you understand that you will never be who you were, and that its not just a bump or trauma to your head, his play will help you and your loved ones and doctors see and feel the COLD, HARD, RAW, TRUTH about brain injuries and recovery. Its time to end the silence of the suffering and pain and loss that we endure after the trauma or traumas that have happened to us It's time for your loved ones to understand, that you cant understand their language anymore.
