Play Synopsis: Having recently graduated from a major conservatory, and with her rocker boyfriend on the brink of megastardom, aspiring composer Amanda Blue's 'extraordinary life' seems to be all mapped out. But when she's called home to answer a distress call from her mother about a marital crisis, Amanda's grand plan starts to unravel. A Feminine Ending is a bittersweet new comedy about dreams deferred, loves lost and learning to trust a woman's voice in a man's world.
Casting Breakdown:
AMANDA - Mid 20s, oboist, aspiring composer.
JACK - Mid 20s, singer, up-and-coming pop star.
KIM - Early 50s, Amanda’s mother. Homemaker.
DAVID - Early 50s, Amanda’s father. Insurance salesman.
BILLY - Mid 20s, Postman.
**Please note that some performers may be cast outside of their age range, depending on the pool of auditioners. Please review the linked audition form and mark appropriately if there are any specific roles you do or do not wish to be considered for.
Auditions:
Auditions will take place at the Arts Academy of New Hampshire (located at 19 Keewaydin Drive #4 in Salem, NH) on Tuesday, February 6th, 2024 from 6:00pm-9:00pm. Performers will be seen through the order in which they arrive. Should you be unable to audition in person or prefer to do so digitally, video auditions can be emailed directly or via an unlisted YouTube link to afemending.czt2024@gmail.com and cztheatre@gmail.com. You must complete the audition form even if you are submitting a video audition. Please do not submit any video auditions later than 11:59pm on Monday, February 5th, 2024.
What to Prepare:
Performers are asked to prepare a 1 minute monologue in the style of the show. If you are unable to prepare a monologue in advance, there will be monologues available for use provided when you arrive at the audition site. Performers may be asked to stay after their audition to read a side from the script or sing a simple song (ex. Happy Birthday). If you play the clarinet or oboe, please feel free to bring it along and showcase your skills; note - this will NOT impact casting if you do not play these instruments. Callbacks will not be held.

Current tentative rehearsal schedule will consist of Sundays, Mondays, and Thursdays, beginning on Sunday, February 11th. Not every performer will be called to every rehearsal. Some rehearsals early on in the process will take place virtually around performer availability.
Performance Dates:
Friday, April 26th, 2024 (6:00pm call, 7:30pm show), Saturday, April 27th, 2024 (6:00pm call, 7:30pm show), and Sunday, April 28th, 2024 (12:30pm call, 2:00pm show)
