The #1 NY Times bestselling author of Women Food and God Geneen Roth will take part in an Innovation + Leadership event to discuss with audiences her latest work, THIS MESSY MAGNIFICENT LIFE: A Field Guide. In this new book, the woman made wise by her own struggles with food and other addictions shares stories and insights from her own retreats and from those she has organized for others.
When her struggle with food ended, Geneen kept trying to fix other broken parts of herself with therapy, intensive meditation retreats, and rigorous spiritual practices. Yet it was only when Geneen stopped trying to change or fix herself that she was at last able to feel at home in her mind, body, and life. Now she shares the wisdom of giving up what Geneen calls "the Me Project," and finding the freedom, peace, and power that await us just beyond it.
The book features a foreword by Anne Lamott, the bestselling author of Help, Thanks, Wow; Small Victories; Bird by Bird; and Operating Instructions. The hour-long event includes an author presentation, discussion, and Q+A facilitated by Margaret Talcott, Producer of Innovation + Leadership at The Music Hall.
Thursday, March 8 - 7pm. The Music Hall Loft, 131 Congress St. Portsmouth, NH 0380.
