The Academy of The Company Theatre (ACT) presents Shrek the Musical Jr., from April 17 through 26 at The Company Theatre Centre for the Performing Arts, 30 Accord Park Drive, Norwell. The production is directed by Zoe Bradford and Jordie Saucerman, with music direction by Melissa Carubia and choreography by Sally Forrest. Several performances have been scheduled to provide family entertainment opportunities during school vacation week.

Shrek the Musical Jr. is a youth version of the Tony Award® winning new musical. Based on the Oscar®-winning film, the fairy tale adventure gathers all the beloved characters from the film to life on stage, and proves there's more to a story than meets the ears. An unlikely hero finds himself on a life-changing journey alongside a wisecracking donkey and a feisty princess who resists rescue. A gingerbread man with an attitude and dozens of other fairy tale misfits deliver the kind of mess that only Shrek can solve! Irreverent fun for the whole family, Shrek proves that beauty is truly in the "eye of the ogre".

ACT was founded in 1987 by Zoe Bradford, Michael Joseph and Jordie Saucerman, with a mission to discover the creative spirit in each child in an enjoyable and challenging atmosphere and to build self-confidence through the experience of the arts.

Tickets for Shrek the Musical, Jr. are $15 for students, $17 for adults, matinee and evening performances are available. For a complete performance schedule, to order tickets, or for more information, call the box office at 781-871-2787, emailboxoffice@companytheatre.com, or visit www.companytheatre.com.
