Carouse with us for Twelfth Night, a festive comedy in which characters contemplate love and loss while they try to drown their sorrows in music (and drink). Three Witches Productions presents Twelfth Night February 1-17. Performances are Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30pm, Sundays at 2:00pm. Tickets are $17 (adults), $14 (members, seniors and students), $12 (senior members). Tickets can be purchased in advance at www.hatboxnh.com or by calling 603-715-2315.

The play opens when our shipwrecked heroine, Viola washes up on the shores of Illyria; there she disguises herself as a servant named Cesario while she mourns the loss of her twin brother. She finds herself caught between the over-the-top households of love-sick Orsino and strong-willed Olivia. Chaos ensues when Feste, Malvolio, Maria, Sir Toby Belch, and all the rest throw themselves into the mix of love, lust, and mistaken identity.

Director, Jill Pinard explained that, "While the play opens with losses experienced by multiple characters, the play is really about love and the celebration of life, although there are characters who definitely take their celebrations too far. The play is full of both mirrors and contrasts. Our Victorian setting on first glance may look formal but actually helps to highlight the raucous behavior that ensues. Seeing this play at The Hatbox enables the audience to be part of the party." Live, original music by Dan Williams provides the playlist.

The cast features Amy Agostino as Maria; Ian Allen as Orsino; Kelsee Arnold as Viola; Nancy Brennan as Fabian; Andrew Burke as Valentine and Officer; Andrew Steven Knight as Sebastian; Gary Locke as Sir Toby Belch; Greg Parker as Malvolio; Zachary Peacock as Antonio and the Captain; Erik Shaffer as Sir Andrew Aguecheeck; Jakob Stone as Feste; Pamela Vizcarrondo as the priest; and Courtney Plati as Olivia. Twelfth Night is directed by Jill and Lydia Pinard. The production includes musical direction by Dan Williams, costumes by Lynn Head, set and lighting design by Andrew Pinard, and stage management by Meredith R. Hanson.
