THE WIZARD OF OZ Comes to Leddy Center, Now thru 11/11

Director and Choreographer, Elaine Gatchell, announces L. Frank Baum's classic masterpiece, The Wizard of Oz, will open tonight, October 26, and run its magic through November 11, at the beautiful new Leddy Center at Verdant Pastures in Epping. 

Ten year old Kirsten Bornkessel, of Lee, will sing and dance her way into your heart as Dorothy in this popular Broadway Musical. The all star cast includes AJ Pratt of Epping as Scarecrow in search of a brain, Eric Savage as Tin Man in search of a heart, Bobby Collinge of Newfields as the Cowardly Lion, and Mike Coppinger of Newburyport, MA, as the great Oz. Janell Wyman of Newington is Glinda, and Kathy St. Germain of Fremont is the Wicked Witch of the West. Starring as Toto is the adorable Yorkie terrier, Tyrone Dinardo of Brentwood. Munchkins, Monkeys, Winkies, Jitterbugs, Crows, Trees, and Ozians make up the rest of the Yellow Brick Road cast with their dancing and singing of all the well-known music from this great musical. The most popular tune from this musical is Dorothy singing "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" and, of course, "We're Off to See the Wizard".

Alison Wood of Raymond has created beautiful scenery in which this tale will unfold. Nathan Amsden is at the keyboard and Bruce Gatchell directs the music. 

Shows are Fridays at 7:30pm and Saturdays and Sundays and one Wednesday, November 7, at 2:00pm. Tickets are $18. and $16. and can be purchased on line at www.leddycenter.org or by calling the box office, Monday through Friday, from 3:00pm to 5:00pm at 603- 679-2781. School show performances are at 9:00am and 11:30am on Wednesday, October 31, and Wednesday, November 14. Reservations for school performances must be made by calling the box office.
