The Seacoast Repertory Theatre (the Rep) has named a managing director, a new position, to manage the growth of the Portsmouth creative center.

Calling it a "vital role in the organization," the Rep Board of Trustees today named Teri Martin as the new Managing Director.

"Teri brings a unique set of skills from both the business and art world," said Board President Dick Winn in making the announcement.

Martin earned her MBA from Harvard, is a CPA, and has held executive positions with Arthur Anderson, HBO, Citicorp and Trammell Crow in auditing, sales, marketing, operations and portfolio management.

In her new role, Martin will report directly to the Board and be responsible for all aspects of finance, development, marketing, planning, facilities and general administration.

"Teri will oversee fiscal operations for the Rep, create an annual budget with the Artistic Director, develop and oversee fund raising programs and marketing efforts, cultivate corporate and community organizations, manage staff and oversee day-to-day operations," said Board Vice President Robert Thoresen.

"I am looking forward to working with this highly talented team as we continue to build on the Rep's strong reputation of creating and performing theatrical works of artistic excellence," said Martin.

Over the past two years, the Rep has experienced significant and continued growth resulting from vastly improved artistic programs led by the Rep's Artistic Director, Craig Faulkner. As a result of that growth, the Board of Trustees, after evaluating staff needs, decided to create the position of Managing Director.

"I couldn't be happier about having this opportunity to work with someone of Teri's professional and personal caliber," said Faulkner

Martin has lived in the Seacoast for more than a dozen years with her husband and two children and is passionate about the arts. She also is an artist, consultant and founder/curator of TheArtNetwork, and has served as Vice President of the Board of the NH Art Association.

Founded in 1987, the SEACOAST REPERTORY THEATRE is a not-for-profit arts and educational organization, which has been entertaining, enlightening and engaging audiences as New Hampshire's only year-round professional theatre for decades. Winner of countless regional and local awards, the Rep offers a complete schedule of award-winning musicals, plays and youth productions as well as educational opportunities for all ages with its youth workshops, classes, camps and Senior Moments programs.
