Seacoast Repertory Theatre and Let's "B" Reel are proud to announce that their award winning Red Light series will be kicking of it's 2016 season with the cult musical classic, PURPLE RAIN on April 27th, 2016. In addition to the screening, The Beautiful Ones (Portland, ME) the nations leading Purple Rain/Prince Cover Band will be on hand for an extra special pre-show performance.

"This year, we are doing things a little differently" says Knate Higgins, volunteer special series curator at The Rep. "Both Tim (Fife) and I have reworked how we present our films. Our audiences can expect bigger pre-shows, more special guests, and a fully immersive experience from the moment they walk in, to the moment they leave the theatre. We'll be celebrating the films to the fullest extent, and giving the audience even more chances to participate during the event. "

PURPLE RAIN is a 1984 cult musical starring rock legend, Prince. Prince stars as The Kid, the front man for the Minneapolis band "The Revolution" a rock band at the height of their career. The Revolution slowly starts to see a decline in their audience, and club promoters are looking for the newest band to replace them. The new band that is selected to replace them, Apolonia 6, is fronted by The Kid's girlfriend Apolonia. All hell breaks loose in an explosion of pop music, dance, and purple velvet. Featuring an academy award winning score and original music by Prince, PURPLE RAIN remains one of the most loved rock musicals of the 80's. A feast for the eyes and ears, PURPLE RAIN still packs in audiences today on the big screen.

"Bunny (Higgins) and I both have pulled out all the stops for this particular screening." Says Timothy Fide, co-director of Let's B Reel. "Having The Beautiful Ones on hand as the opener is something we have been excited about for a long time. Working around their schedule, and nailing them down has been the greatest challenge thus far. We are so proud to bring the real deal to our fans and loyal Let's B Reel patrons. And yes...we will make it "purple rain" on the audience..."
