Seacoast Repertory Theatre and PAPA Youth Mainstage presents it's all youth production of RENT: School Edition. After the smashing success of PAPA's 2012 youth season, it was the decision of Miles Burns and Grady O'Neil to bring back the youth Mainstage shows to Seacoast Rep. The obvious choice for the youth directors, was RENT: School Edition (a teen friendly version of the smash Broadway musical) as it speaks to so many of the young actors involved in the program.

RENT is a story of a group of artists and rebels some of who are living with AIDS in the early 90's. Rent is a brutally honest and gorgeous story that set the bar for modern Rock musicals. Loosely based on Puccini's opera "La Boheme", RENT defined a youthful generation of Theatre with its rock score and heart pounding story of love, loss and the fight to stay alive. The school edition of RENT has been abridged in certain places to make it more appropriate for teens to perform; mostly language has been replaced but the story and content stays the same.

RENT: School Edition features a large cast of Teen actors, ranging from 12-18 years old. The principle cast includes: Spencer Bernard-Kreig (Benny), Morgan Blanchard (Mark), Briana Bronzetti (Joanne), Kaila Gutierrez (Mimi), Ethan Martin (Roger), Marty Miller (Tom Collins), Michael Peele (Angel), Abby Scharff (Maureen), and Elle Shaheen (Alexi Darling). RENT: School Edition is Directed and Choreographed by Taryn Herman, and Music Directed by Miles Burns.

RENT: School Edition runs January 18th, 2013-January 17th, 2013. Tickets are $20-$25. Tickets may be purchased by visiting the box office at 125 Bow Street Portsmouth, NH 03801, By calling the box office at 603.433.4472, or by visiting www.seacoastrep.org.
