Want to make it big on Broadway? Produce a stinker of a play! Or at least that is the scheme hatched by a down-on-his-luck Broadway producer, Max Bialystock, and a peculiar accountant, Leo Bloom. Sounds easy, right... but what if the play turns out to be a hit?! Winner of a record 12 Tony Awards, Broadway comes to Peterborough with this gloriously entertaining, insanely funny musical.
The Producers features Tom Frey (The Ladies Man, God of Carnage) as Leo Bloom, Kraig Swartz (Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike, Pygmalion) as Max Bialystock and introducing Elyse Collier as Ulla. Directed by Artistic Director Gus Kaikkonen. Choreographed By Bill Burns. Musical Direction by Michael Sebastian.
This is the largest musical the Players have ever produced and was made possible by the generous contributions of numerous friends of the Players.
The fourth of 7 Main Stage shows that the Players will produce during their 13 week Summer Season, The Producers by Mel Brooks and Thomas Meehan plays August 2-13 and is sponsored by RiverMead and Sequoya Technologies.
Performances are Wednesday-Friday at 7:30pm, Saturday at 8:00pm, Sundays at 4:00pm. The Players is also pleased to present an additional matinee performance on Tuesdays at 2:00pm. There are Talkbacks with the cast following the first Friday and Sunday performances and a Cabaret following the performances on Saturdays.
Single tickets are $39 and a 6-ticket flex pass can be purchased for $204. Subscriptions are also available. All options are on sale now. Rated PG-13 for Adult Humor and Titillating Situations.
