The Santaland Diaries closes out its run this week as the first show in the Players Inaugural Winter Season. Christmas fans and Grinches alike will find the perfect cure for holiday madness in the side-splitting and irreverent The Santaland Diaries. Best-selling author David Sedaris chronicles his outlandish and truly misguided stint as "Crumpet" - one of Macy's Santaland elves. It's the most wonderful time of the year, if Crumpet can survive the bad Santas, naughty elves, cranky kids, and pushy parents. This brilliant behind-the-scenes send-up of everything we love and loathe about Christmas, illuminates the insanity of the holidays, and the resilience of the human spirit.
Show plays Wednesday-Saturday at 7:30pm with a matinee performance at 2pm on Saturday, December 17. The production runtime is approximately 80 minutes without an intermission.
Single tickets are $39 and can be purchased online at www.peterboroughplayers.org or by calling the box office at 603-924-7585. Subscriptions and passes are also on sale now for the entire Winter Season. And to celebrate the season the Players are offering their largest ever discounted ticket price with a 3-play subscription for only $75. A 6-ticket flex pass can be purchased for $180.
On Sunday, December 18 at 1pm the Players invites you to join them for a performance of the Bolshoi Ballet's spectacular production of The Nutcracker. On Christmas Eve, Marie's wooden nutcracker doll transforms into a beautiful prince who takes her on a magical journey. Before they leave, they must confront the Mouse King whose army is threatening Marie...
Christmas would not be complete without the enchanting tale of young Marie and her Nutcracker prince! Danced by the Bolshoi's principals, E.T.A. Hoffmann's fairytale staged by Russian ballet master Yuri Grigorovich will transport children and adults alike to a world of magic and wonder for the holiday season.
Runtime is approximately 2 hour 15 minutes.
