The adventures of King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table are told through the timeless score of composing duo Alan Jay Lerner and Frederick Loewe ( My Fair Lady, Brigadoon ). As Arthur and his companions consolidate their power and spread their maxim of " Might for Right, " the flower of unexpected romance blossoms close to home.
The effectual and affectionate Queen Guenevere finds herself locked in an illicit love triangle with Lancelot, the most honorable of Arthur's knights, and the King. As passions overflow and tensions rise, the good King Arthur and his chivalric principles are tested in ways he could never imagine.
Starring as King Arthur is long time Barn favorite Fred Rose *. Rose, who is no stranger to Broadway ( Porgy and Bess, Company, Phantom of the Opera ), has appeared in several past productions at the Barn, most recently The Mystery of Edwin Drood and Ragtime. Joining him at the legendary round table is Barn newcomer Andy Tighe * ( A Christmas Carol at North Shore Music Theatre, My Fair Lady at New Bedford Festival Theatre ) as Lancelot Du Lac.
Barnie fans will be delighted see Adam Zeph ( 2017 ' s West Side Story, 2016 Acting Intern ) returning to the Barn stage as Merlyn and Pellinore. What would a New London Barn Playhouse production be without its artful cohort of the 2018 Acting Intern Company ?
