Celebrate storytelling in February with Pat Spalding and Genevieve Aichele at New Hampshire Theatre Project/West End Studio Theatre.

Friends and colleagues for over 30 years, Pat and Genevieve will teach a series of workshops on personal and traditional storytelling, and perform some of their own stories in Everything Old Is New Again on February 17-19.

Friday, February 17, 6:30-9:00 pm will be an Introduction to Storytelling. On Saturday, February 18, Pat Spalding will offer Personal Storytelling from 9:30-12:30 and Genevieve Aichele will present Traditional Storytelling from 1:30-4:30 pm For details and fees, check out NHTP's website or call 603-431-6644 ext. 4.

On Saturday, February 18 at 8 pm and Sunday, February 19 at 2 pm, Pat and Genevieve will present Everything Old is New Again. Pat will perform some of her favorite stories from the past that resonate more than ever in the present. Genevieve will tell traditional tales from Ireland, Puerto Rico and Turkey whose timeless themes will always be contemporary, accompanied by Bailey Weakley on percussion. Expect a few surprises from these two old friends as well!

Long before The Moth and This American Life popularized the form, Pat Spalding has been performing personal stories. Her acclaimed one-woman shows include We Stayed Together for the Puppets, A Bomb in the Closet, Dancing with Dad and Motherhood, Menopause, and Big-Game Hunting. Pat is also well-known locally as a majorette for the Leftist Marching Band and emcee of True Tales Live at PPMTV. In Everything Old is New Again

Genevieve Aichele has won numerous national and international awards for her storytelling work with musicIan Randy Armstrong and their two albums of World Tales. Along with her work as artistic director of New Hampshire Theatre Project, she has performed, directed and taught theatre arts from Boston to Seattle to West Palm Beach, from Dublin to Hong Kong to Frankfurt.

Pat and Genevieve first performed together over 30 years ago and have watched each other grow and change as artists. Genevieve says, "Through puppetry and mime, music and comedy, acting and directing, writing and movement... In the end, for both of us, it always comes down to storytelling. Stories have the power to inspire, comfort, heal, provoke, transform, teach, tease us into laughter and move us to tears. In this show, each of us will share some of our personal favorites over the years. No matter how old, stories are always eternally new."
