On November 5 and 12, New Hampshire Theatre Project will offer two full-day professional development workshops on The Joy of Fundraising.

The first workshop on November 5 will focus on the basic fundamentals of raising funds, including: different development strategies used by nonprofit community organizations; understanding the reasons why donors give or don't give; developing relationships; cultivation, solicitation and stewardship; leveraging technology; and how to make a strategic fundraising pitch.

Grantwriting Basics will be the focus of November 12, including: the fundamentals of researching, writing and applying for grants; understanding how grants are awarded; the importance of matching grants to mission; and how grants fit into an organization's strategic development plan.

These workshops are recommended for community volunteers, board members, students and anyone who is interested in the art of soliciting donations for an organization that serves a greater need.

Instructor Genevieve Aichele teaches Fundraising, Grantwriting, Public Speaking and Nonprofit Fundamentals in the Community Leadership Program at the Thompson School of Applied Science at UNH. Professional Development certificates are available on request.

The Joy of Fundraising workshops will be held at NHTP's home venue, the West End Studio Theatre on Islington Street in Portsmouth. Workshops are $105 each, or $170 for both workshops.
