Back by popular demand, The Intelligent Theatre Festival, which premiered in April 2013, is expanding to TWO weekends of provocative scripts and screenplays.

In a staged reading, seated actors face the audience and read directly from the script, without memorization or movement. No costumes, lights, sets, or special effects - just the words, allowing audiences to hear the playwright's art in its purest form.

The first weekend of the festival is titled Women Who Break the Rules. It will feature Mrs. Warren's Profession by George Bernard Shaw (Friday, March 21 at 7:00pm), The Clean House by Sarah Ruhl (Saturday March 22 at 7:00pm), and Lettice & Lovage by Peter Shaffer (Sunday, March 23 at 2:00pm).

The second weekend is titled Deadly Games. It will feature Laconia Dodgers by Michael Fischer (Friday, March 28 at 7:00pm), The Deadly Game by James Yaffe (Saturday, March 29 at 7:00pm), and Prion by Tom McCarron and Dennis Kleinmann (Sunday, March 30 at 2:00pm).

All readings are held at the West End Studio Theatre except Lettice & Lovage on March 23, which will be held at Langdon House, Pleasant Street, Portsmouth

Tickets are $10 per reading, or $50 for the Festival. For reservations and information, call 603-431-6644 ext. 5, or email reservations@nhtheatreproject.org.
