New Hampshire Theatre Project Announces Registration for 2010 Winter Classes

Classes at New Hampshire Theatre Project begin on January 11, 2010.

The winter session includes 8 week sessions for adults and youths.

Adult Classes for ages 17 and up:
Adult Acting - January 25-March 22 (snow date March 29), Mondays 7-9pm
Playwriting - March 2-April 13 (snow date April 20), Tuesdays 7-9pm

Youth Classes:
Creative Drama for ages 5-7, January 13-March 10 (snow date March 17), Wednesdays, 3:45-4:45pm
Youth Acting Technique for ages 8-12, January 11-March 8 (snow date March 15), Mondays, 4-5pm
Shakespeare for Teens for ages 13-17, January 11-March 8 (snow date March 15), Wednesdays, 5:15-6:45pm

Adult Acting (ages 17 & up) This intensive class focuses on acting technique, physical and vocal skills, script interpretation, character analysis and theatre protocol. Participants work on scenes and monologues with mature themes. Commitment to regular attendance is required. Adult Acting runs Mondays from 7-9pm starting January 25 and concludes on March 22 with an Informance for family and friends.
Fee: $225 per session, Instructor: Genevieve Aichele

Playwriting (ages 17 & up) This class is intended for beginning dramatists and other writers who are interested in learning more about the craft of the playwright. Students will learn the fundamentals of dialogue, the principles of dramatic structure and strategies for using feedback to improve their work. Some outside reading will be assigned. Playwriting runs Tuesdays from 7-9pm starting March 2 and concludes on April 13. Some scripts may be featured in NHTP's New Works Festival on July 10 & 11, 2010.
Fee: $200 per session, Instructor: Robert Macadaeg

Creative Drama (ages 5-7) For ages 5-7, this class introduces younger children to theatre with developmentally appropriate activities, modeled on the NH Department of Education curriculum standards for drama. Using dramatic play, story theatre and creative movement, children learn self-expression and social skills along with the basics of acting. Creative Drama runs Wednesdays from 3:45-4:45pm starting January 13 and concludes on March 10 with an Informance for family and friends.
Fee: $150 per session, Instructor: Hannah Feintuch

Youth Acting Technique (ages 8-12) This class focuses on acting technique, physical & vocal skills, script interpretation, character analysis and theatre protocol. Participants work on scenes and monologues appropriate to their age and experience. Youth Acting Technique runs Mondays from 4-5pm starting January 11 and concludes on March 8 with an Informance for family and friends.
Fee: $150 per session, Instructor: Liz Krane

Shakespeare for Teens (ages 13-17) This in-depth scene study brings
Shakespeare's plays alive through focus on language, movement, and character
relationships. Students will work collaboratively to shape Shakespeare's scenes for performance. Attendance at all classes is mandatory. Shakespeare for Teens runs Mondays from 5:15-6:45pm and concludes on March 8 with an Informance for family and friends.
