Jaffrey's River Street Theatre, a project of The Park Theatre, will hold the New England premiere of the new independent thriller/horror film, The Transfiguration commencing this Thursday, May 11 at 7pm. It will also be shown Friday and Saturday (May 12 & 13) at 7pm plus a matinee at 1:30pm on Saturday, May 13.

An official selection at the Cannes Film Festival, writer/director Michael O'Shea's debut feature The Transfiguration follows troubled teen Milo who hides behind his fascination with vampire lore. When he meets the equally alienated Sophie, the two form a bond that begins to challenge Milo's dark obsession, blurring his fantasy into reality. A chilling portrait of violence, The Transfiguration is an atmospheric thriller set against the grit of New York City.

Strand Releasing's The Transfiguration has appeared at the 2017 SXSW Festival, Deauville Film Festival, Fancine International and numerous other festivals. It receives an "84% FRESH" rating at RottenTomastoes.com. The Los Angeles Times says, "O'Shea (makes a) startling debut that leaves a fresh mark on the genre while celebrating its forbears."

Tickets for The Transfiguration screenings are $8 each (seniors. Military, students, teachers: $7)). Due to the intimate size of the River Street Theatre, it is highly recommended that tickets are purchased in advance. Call the Box Office at 603-532-8888 or go to www.theparktheatre.org to purchase tickets with any major credit card.
The River Street Theatre is located in downtown Jaffrey, New Hampshire at 6 River Street. The River Street Theatre is sponsored by: Grove Street Fiduciary, Coca-Cola, the Board of Trustees of the Park Theatre, Janet S. Grant, Betty Locke, Owen Houghton and the James F. & Fernande Kelly Charitable Trust.
