The River Street Theatre announced today that they will be presenting the critically acclaimed animated feature Loving Vincent after receiving the most requests for any film. It will be presented on Friday and Saturday, March 23 and 24, both a 7pm. There will also be a matinee screening at 2pm on Saturday, March 24.
"It is remarkable how many requests we have had to present Loving Vincent even though it has been shown by several theatres in the region since its September 2017 debut," said Steve Jackson, CEO and Managing Director of The Park Theatre which operates the River Street Theatre. "People have either never seen it or they want to see it again with friends. This groundbreaking animated masterpiece has been nominated for 48 awards (including the Oscars® and the Golden Globes®) and has won 14," added Jackson.
Loving Vincent comes from Academy Award® winning producers Breakthru Films and Trademark Films. In a story depicted in oil painted animation, a young man comes to the last hometown of painter Vincent van Gogh to deliver the troubled artist's final letter and ends up investigating his final days there. A seemingly simple story turns into an epic journey. The film stars Chris O'Dowd (Bridesmaids, Get Shorty, Moone Boy), Saoirse Ronan (Lady Bird, Atonement, The Lovely Bones) and Douglas Booth (Pride and Prejudice, Noah, Great Expectations, Riot Club).

The Park Theatre first opened in Jaffrey in 1922 and was the center of community life as a movie and vaudeville house for 54 years until it closed in 1976. Purchased by The Park Theatre, Inc. in 2006, it will be rebuilt as a state-of-the-art film and performing arts center, featuring two auditoriums seating 485, presenting movies, live theatre, including children's productions, concerts, and lectures as well as offering a place for business and community gatherings for the Monadnock Region and its 100,000 residents, school districts and dynamic artistic community.
