October lends itself to the copious amount of Horror Movie viewings, and The Rep Red Light Series will be screening Richard Griffin's "Murder University" a pitch perfect example of New England horror filmmaking. An independent and wonderfully irreverent film by Rhode Island's Richard Griffin, Murder University features all the blood, gore and tongue-in-cheek humor a horror movie should have.

"Murder University" also features a score made up of local rock legends Tim Fife and Timothy Lang. The Two collaborated on the soundtrack together with a few other people from Portsmouth's music community. Knate Higgins and Tim Fife both agreed that Portsmouth needed something like this, to keep it weird and eccentric like they and their friends lovingly view it. "I wanted to make sure that The Rep is open to all kinds of performance, not just limited to the stage" say's Higgins the social marketing manager and contributor to The Rep's Red Light Series. "I think it's important to keep Portsmouth and our "Theatre" District of Bow St. a haven for those who like things a little off beat, and strange"

A homegrown "Creature Feature" show will take place, complete with pre-show featuring the return of The Dirty Dishes Burlesque Revue. The Portland based troupe will be performing and yes …blood wrestling. Don't worry… its fake! The Rep stage has never seen anything like this! A few guests of the Portsmouth food service community will also be partaking in the aptly named "blood bath".

A formal talk back with the cast and crew of Murder University will take place right after the screening. The whole event will be hosted by drag sensation Bunny Wonderland and resident artist CJ Lewis. "Murder University" screens Wednesday Oct. 24th 7:30pm. Tickets are "pay what you can!"(suggested donation of $10) Tickets must be purchased at The Rep box office to take advantage of pay what you can deal. General Admission.
