Two-time Dancing with the Stars winner, Kym Johnson, and fellow cast member, Tristan MacManus, will headline April's Ballroom With A Twist Free performance at the Capitol Center for the Arts. Johnson and MacManus will join past finalists from American Idol and So You Think You Can Dance in this one-of-a-kind ballroom dance show, which visits the Capitol Center for the Arts tonight, April 8, at 7:30pm.
Johnson has won the Mirror Trophy Ball in two of her 13 seasons on Dancing with the Stars. During her time, she has been partnered with some of the show's most popular celebrities - David Hasselhoff, Joey Fatone, Mark Cuban, Warren Sapp and more - and finished in first place with entertainer Donny Osmand in 2009 and with former Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Hines Ward in 2011.
MacManus joined the cast of Dancing with the Stars during the show's 13th season, and has been partnered with Nancy Grace, Gladys Knight, Pamela Anderson, Dorothy Hamill and Valerie Harper.
The pro dancers will be joined by So You Think You Can Dance finalists, Legacy, Randi Lynn Strong and Jonathan Platero, as well as former American Idol finalists Von Smith and Gina Glockson. Glockson was a Top-10 finalist during the sixth season of the Fox hit television show.
Watching the cha-cha rattle on the television screen is one thing, but getting up close with the fringe, sequins, and booming sounds of Rumba bass is a whole other ballgame.
Ballroom With A Twist brings a frenzy of sizzling dance moves by professional international dancers spanning the hot moves of Samba, Waltz, Foxtrot, Quickstep, and Jive, paired with live music.
The show is choreographed by Dancing with the Stars' Emmy-nominated Louis van Amstel, whose passion brings a new level of excitement and flash to this family-friendly evening.
