Executive Director Elaine Gatchell announces another Showcase event at Leddy Center in January! Playwright, Donald Tongue of Londonderry, and long time actor with Leddy, has written a timely political comedy that examines the ups and downs of presidential campaigns. The story revolves around two candidates, Bob Roberts and John McCoy, who emerge as the winners of the Iowa Caucuses, and eagerly head east for the next round in the presidential election season - the first in the nation New Hampshire primary. Their political fortunes are on the rise, and another victory will put them well on their way to winning their party's' nomination. All would seem to be going well for the McCoy and Roberts campaigns, until an unscripted candid moment leaves them fighting for more than their political survival.
Candid Candidate is written and directed by Donald Tongue (Londonderry), and will feature many New Hampshire actors: Chris Demers (Concord), Deirdre Hickok Bridge (Derry), Larry Pizza (Nashua), Jane Paradis-Button (Manchester), Jackie Coffin (Manchester), Aaron Compagna (Concord), Jake Lamontagne (Londonderry), and regional actor Christina Kostoulakos (Lowell, MA).
