The Music Hall and the Ogunquit Playhouse are pleased to announce four Broadway veterans to star in the beloved holiday classic White Christmas at The Music Hall in Portsmouth, December 9 to 20. Jeffry Denman will reprise his role as Phil Davis, which he played to critical acclaim on Broadway, Joey Sorge will play Bob Wallace, Kate Loprest debuts as Betty Haynes, and Vanessa Sonon plays Judy Haynes in this heartwarming musical adaptation that features the book by David Ives and Paul Blake and seventeen Irving Berlin songs including "Blue Skies," "Sisters," "Count Your Blessings," and the perennial favorite, "White Christmas."
The story follows the two World War II veterans whose successful song-and-dance act finds them following two beautiful singing sisters to Vermont in search of romance and to put on a Christmas show - but, will there be snow?
Joey Sorge* (Bob Wallace) is making his Music Hall debut but is thrilled to spend the holidays with Ogunquit Playhouse family, where he recently starred as Jimmy in Nice Work If You Can Get It. Other Ogunquit productions include Don Lockwood in Singin' In The Rain and Robert in The Drowsy Chaperone. Joey just finished playing Bernard in Boeing, Boeing at Gulfshore Playhouse in Naples, FL. Broadway Credits include: the original casts of Nice Work If You Can Get It, How To Succeed In Business..., and The Drowsy Chaperone; Thoroughly Modern Millie; and the 2001 revival of Follies. Jeffry Denman* (Phil Davis) played Phil Davis in the world premiere, cast recording, and original Broadway (Astaire nom) casts of Irving Berlin's White Christmas and won an IRNE Award in 2007 for the Boston production. Broadway: The Producers, Cats, Dream, How To Succeed. Encores: Face the Music, Of Thee I Sing. Off Broadway: YANK! (Drama Desk, Lortel, Callaway noms), Passion, Children of a Lesser God, The Holiday Guys. TV/Film: Erotic Fire of the Unattainable, Law & Order, Nurse Jackie, PBS Great Performances. Regional: Kid Victory (Signature), Crazy for You, Spamalot (Ogunquit), Singin' in the Rain (MUNY), Into the Woods (Baltimore Center Stage, Sacramento Music Circus). Vanessa Sonon* (Judy Haynes) is thrilled to make her Ogunquit Playhouse debut! Her Broadway credits include Anything Goes, Erma (u/s); Spamalot, Lady of the Lake (u/s); 42nd St, Peggy Sawyer (u/s). First National Tours include Anything Goes, Erma; Spamalot and 42nd St, Anytime Annie (u/s). One of her favorite regional roles played is Judy in White Christmas, where she's been seen in productions at the Ahmanson Theater, Walnut St Theater, and the Fulton Theater. Other favorite regional roles include Polly Baker in Crazy for You, Val in A Chorus Line, Cassie (u/s), Dee Lee in Smokey Joe's Cafe, Gertie Cummings in Oklahoma, and Ginger Rogers in Backwards in High Heels. Vanessa would like to thank her parents, her family, and to Chris for their constant love and support.
