Sacred fire. For the deeply religious Anton Bruckner was the motivation to create monumental symphonies. Relying on his inner compass he composed only the music that his heart gave him. He did not hesitate to prescribe the riantst imaginable orchestra and developed an unmistakable style. That his symphonies were difficult to implement, he took for granted.
The Nexus Musica Festival Ensemble plays Bruckner's Seventh Symphony, in a beautiful arrangement for ten instrumentalists. In this version, the piece sounds more transparent, more personal and sensitive than when a band of over a hundred men raised a wall of decibels.
For this surprising operation is replaced by a harmonium on stage. We use this opportunity to let you enjoy poetic Dvo?ák Bagatelles for strings and harmonium. We open the festival, how could it be otherwise, the Ritual Fire Dance from Manuel de Falla's El amor brujo, to defuse the fire gods.
Who wants to know about Bruckner's sacred fire of welcome at the opening of Leo Samama at 19.15.
