Love. Debt. Sacrifice. It's not the lightest themes Eduard Mörike broaches in his poetry. But Hugo Wolf made it beautiful songs full, brimming with sparkling instrumental details and delicate melodies. In this ambitious concert video Dietrich Henschel will star in Irrsal - Forbidden Prayers, a film by Clara Pons which Wolf's symphonic song art provides atmospheric, visually sophisticated images.
