Bach rejected at Zuiderstrand Theatre

Bach was actually third choice for the City of Leipzig as the new cantor. The huge messy procedure, was chosen first for Telemann and Graupner later. When they do not bleach available, Bach came into view. The rest is history. Bach applied with two test cantatas which are both heard in this program. On April 22, 1723 he was appointed and on May 30 he performed his first cantata as Thomascantor from Die Elenden sollen essen.
