For one week only, Dutch musical actress Ana Milva Gomes, who plays Deloris van Cartier in the Vienna production of SISTER ACT, will be playing in the Dutch production of the same show at the Circustheater Scheveningen.

SISTER ACT in Vienna has stopped for the summer, providing an opportunity for Gomez to temporarily join the Dutch cast.

Gomes will play her first performance in Dutch tonight and continue through July 25 according to the show producers, Stage Entertainment. On the producers' website, Gomes states it's a dream come true to be playing this role in her own language.

No official announcement has been made as to the need to fly in another Deloris. Insiders reported that Carolina Dijkhuizen, first-cast Doloris, fell ill during the June 30 performance. Understudy April Darby then took over the role. Nurlaila Karim is billed as alternate Deloris.

SISTER ACT had its world premiere at the Pasadena Playhouse in the fall of 2006, followed by a a West End production in 2009 and a Broadway production in 2011. Subsequent productions all over the world include the Vienna one (which opened in 2011) and the Scheveningen one (2013). The musical was written by Cheri and Bill Steinkellner with additional book material by Douglas Carter Beane, lyrics by Glenn Slater and music by Alan Menken. It is based on the hit 1992 film comedy of the same name.
