Williams, Peppers Star in World Premiere Production of SOUTHERN FRIED NUPTIALS for Bethlehem Players

Bethlehem Players will find themselves back in Mississippi this spring with the premiere of Southern Fried Nuptials, as the Frye family struggles to marry off daughter Harline in the latest comedy from Dietz Osborne and Nate Eppler, the award-winning playwrights of Southern Fried Funeral, the critically acclaimed comedy that first introduced the Magnolia State family, their friends and kinfolk.

Real-life couple Kandace Williams and Johnny Peppers, who will be married later this year, will reprise their original roles as Harline Frye and Atticus VanLeer in the world premiere production of the Southern Fried sequel.

Bethlehem Players will stage the April 13 world premiere production at their Franklin home—Bethlehem United Methodist Church—as the troupe celebrates its fifteenth year.

Award-winning playwrighting team Osborne and Eppler are revisit the Dixie-born-and-bred environs of Southern Fried Funeral, which was a sold-out hit for the Bethlehem Players in 2010. Bringing the heart-warming characters back to stage for the 2012 production, Bethlehem UMC music and arts director Harry Robinson said tickets are now on sale with promises of another great night of entertainment.

“Osborne and Eppler have written their second epicly humorous play of the Frye family and their latest adventures and mishaps. The Bethlehem Players have chosen for their fifteenth year anniversary to stage their second world premiere production and the audience will not be disappointed,” Robinson said.

Southern Fried Nuptials is presented by the community theatre troupe, the Bethlehem Players, at Bethlehem United Methodist Church, 2419 BethlehEm Loop Road,  during selected times April 13-28. Shows without a dinner are presented April 13, 14, 20, 21, 27, 28 at 7 p.m. Dinner shows are April 17, 19, 24, 26 with a delicious hot meal at 4:45 p.m. and the show at 6 p.m. Matinee only shows are April 15 and 22 at 2 p.m.

Tickets for show-only are $15 for adults and $12 for high school students and younger and are available for all shows.  Dinner show tickets are $22 for adults and $18 for high students and younger.  A 10% discount is available for groups 10 or more paying with one check. The Bethlehem Players are celebrating their 15th year of exceptional family entertainment staging productions in the Bethlehem Performing Arts Center at Bethlehem United Methodist Church. The community theatre outreach program was founded in 1997 by Harry Robinson and, since its inception, the Bethlehem Players have successfully staged for packed audiences everything from Annie to Steel Magnolias.
