Watershed Public Theatre announces the return of A Victorian Christmas Carol with Charles Dickens to Columbia State Community College's Ledbetter Auditorium for a limited run December 14-17. Their adaptation, a storyteller version of A Christmas Carol as narrated by Charles Dickens, offers a fresh look and musical twist to the classic holiday play.

The 2016 production of A Victorian Christmas Carol with Charles Dickens was the first production for the young professional theatre company: "We had such an overwhelmingly positive response to last year's production that we knew we wanted to produce it again this year," stated Watershed's executive director Kate Foreman. "We're excited to have many returning from last year's cast, along with a few new faces."

Among the returning cast is Nashville actor Lane Wright playing Ebeneezer Scrooge, the miserly old "humbug" at the center of the tale. "I'm looking forward to reuniting with my old friend Mr. Scrooge on his journey toward being a decent human being," Wright says.

Also returning to the stage are Kay Ayers and Sherry Johnson, along with Evan Taylor Williams. Eleni Ekimogloy, Diego Gomez and Chris TyJuan Gordon join the cast this year.

Spring Hill actor Brad Oxnam reprises the role of Charles Dickens. "It's wonderful to get another chance to tell a timeless, heartwarming story and to do it with people you love working beside," Oxnam explains. "I hope we can give the Columbia community not only a great piece of theatre, but show them that professional quality artistic productions like Watershed Public Theatre can be found in their own backyard!"
