Nashville's UNTITLED Artists' Group welcomes you to the festivities this holiday season at its 2009 Winter show "THE ISLAND OF MISFIT ART", Friday, December 11 from 6 to 10 pm. This free, one-night-only art event will take place at the Due West Professional Building, conveniently located on 1160 Gallatin Pike S, Madison, TN 37115. Here Nashville's emerging and innovative artists will expose the neglected, glorify the unnoticed and acquaint you with the unfamiliar in the group's final show of 2009. "THE ISLAND OF MISFIT ART" is the latest in a series of successful, quarterly exhibitions that support artistic innovation and offer alternative visual art in non-traditional spaces. In addition to featuring some of Nashville's most unique and diverse artists, this one night event includes a trapeze performance, contests, music, and affordable art and information from ARTDOCS.

"THE ISLAND OF MISFIT ART" will take place Friday, December 11 from 6 to 10 p.m. at the Due West Professional Building, 1160 Gallatin Pike S, Madison, TN 37115. Due West Professional Building offers studio, exhibit and performance space for Nashville area artists. Due West Professional Building is located just north of Exit 14B (Gallatin Pike S) on Briley Parkway and south of the Madison Square Shopping Center. While the address is Gallatin Pike, the building is located just off of the main road, which you can reach by turning onto DUE WEST AVENUE. Look for the tall, office building by the Due West Plaza and Music City Thrift. There is plenty of parking around the building. Enter the building and proceed to the 3rd floor.

Patrons may purchase artwork by cash or check and may take their pieces home with them at 10pm that evening. Additionally, there will also be a section for patrons to purchase a variety of small works and crafts by participating artists. This gives everyone a chance to purchase an affordable piece of art by local artists and right in time for Christmas!
Heard of ARTDOCS? Interested in free healthcare for artists? With its Madison location clinic located just minutes from the venue, ARTDOCS will have an info table at the show to answer all your questions. http://artdocsnashville.org
We will have Music City's favorite music man, DJ Synapse Trap, serving up a hot helping of fresh and funky grooves.
ABOUT THE PERFORMER -
We are excited to announce "THE ISLAND OF MISFIT ART" Performer:
Leela Sophina "Queen of the Air"

Leela is a member of Music City Burlesque and has performed in shows with Cirque Bezerk, Gooferman, Mutaytor, The Goat Family Circus, and random, carnival freak-shows.
