Thursday's the night for A Knight to Remember, a gala fundraiser hosted by the Brentwood Arts Society, beginning at 6:30 p.m. at Towne Centre Theatre and concluding with an exclusive performance of the company's staging of Once Upon a Mattress.

"Purchasing a $50 ticket to this event not only ensures each guest a delicious dinner, fantastic entertainment, an opportunity to bid on spectacular auction items, and lots of laughs, but also ensures that the Brentwood Arts Society will be able to continue our annual outreach efforts which include offering children's classes, providing youth scholarships and presenting quality live theatre here in Brentwood," said Johnny Peppers, BAS Board Member and chair of A Knight to Remember. "We expect to fill all 100 seats for this special night so we encourage you to make reservations now!"

Prior to the 8 p.m. performance of Once Upon a Mattress, guests will be transported to the age of chivalry and princesses with an opportunity to participate in a medieval joust with a chance to win a Nintendo Wii game. Several silent auction items will also be on display in the theatre's gallery throughout the night.

Special Renaissance-style music by Nashville Early Music Project will accompany the catered dinner. A live auction including a pair of tickets to the December 19 Tennessee Titans game will take place during intermission when dessert will also be served.

"This event also marks the beginning of our season ticket sales for our 2011 season," said Peppers. "So, as a special incentive, anyone who purchases their 2011 season ticket during A Knight to Remember will receive a bonus ticket good for any one opening Friday or Saturday during 2011 so they can introduce a friend to what's going on here at Towne Centre Theatre. It's just a simple way we can say thank you to our patrons who do so much to support us year after year. We really appreciate them and want them to know how important they are to our success."
