Cookeville Drama Center will play host to the Tennessee Theatre Association's Conference 2009, which will feature the TTA Secondary School One-Act Play Festival and the Community Theatres' State Festival, October 23-26.

The 42nd annual convention will also include the high school scholarship auditions, the Southeastern Theatre Conference state screening auditions, the annual business meeting, workshops, discussions and networking events.

TTA is the only statewide organization dedicated to theatre, providing a source for information, ideas and interaction since 1968, according to a statement from the group: "Over the years our purpose has always remained the same: promoting the highest standards in theatre throughout the state of Tennessee."

TTA member organizations represent youth theatres, schools, colleges and universities, community theatres, professional production companies and presenters and individual arts from throughout Tennessee.

Host hotel for Conference 2009 is The Fairfiled Inn and Suites by Marriott, located at 1200 Sam's Street in Cookeville.
