Tennessee Repertory Theatre will partner with The Acorn restaurant and Nashville Scene for a special event to celebrate its 25th Anniversary. The evening-titled "Nashville Scenes"-- will feature staged readings of scenes from Tennessee Rep's 2009-2010 season and hot hors d'oeuvres and will be held Wednesday, July 29 from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at The Acorn (114 28th Avenue North).
"The 25th season of Tennessee Rep says so much about two things: the quality and diligence of Nashville theatre artists and the value that Nashville puts on live professional theatre," says Tennessee Rep Producing Artistic Director René D. Copeland. "It is remarkable on both counts, and it makes all of us proud to live in the community we serve. And we're really looking forward to launching a season of celebration with a party that will share a little taste of upcoming productions with folks who support Tennessee Rep and enjoy live theatre."
Tennessee Rep's 25th Anniversary season features the following: Steel Magnolias by Robert Harling, A Christmas Story by Phillip Grecian based on the motion picture by Jean Shepherd, Leigh Brown, and Bob Clark, Proof by David Auburn, and Big River: The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, music and lyrics by Roger Miller and book by William Hauptman, based on the classic novel by Mark Twain.
Actors that will be featured at the event include Shane Bridges, Brooke Bryant, Ruth Cordell, Anna Felix, Henry Haggard, Mary Jane Harvill, Denice Hicks, Andy Kanies, Bakari King, Eric D. Pasto-Cosby, Carrie Tillis, Peter Vann, Patrick Waller, Samuel Whited, David Wilkerson, and Bobby Wyckoff.
