Tennessee Performing Arts Center Announces Their February Events

The mission of the Tennessee Performing Arts Center is "to create a lifetime of meaningful and relevant experiences through the performing arts."

Company Overview:TPAC is located in the James K. Polk Cultural Center at 505 Deaderick Street in downtown Nashville, occupying an entire city block between 5th and 6th Avenues and Deaderick and Union Streets.

The performance venues at TPAC are Andrew Jackson Hall (2,472 seats), James K. Polk Theater (1,075), Andrew Johnson Theater (256) and War Memorial Auditorium (1,661), the historic landmark located across 6th Avenue and the plaza from the Center.

Charismatic country artist Chris Cagle will perform his chart topping hits in concert at TPAC's War Memorial Auditorium. The one-night-only benefit show is in support of Saddle Up!, Middle Tennessee's oldest and largest recreational therapeutic horseback riding program and the only one exclusively serving children and youth who have disabilities. An avid horse enthusiast, Cagle is passionate about Saddle Up!'s mission to help children who have disabilities grow and develop through activities with horses. The concert kicks off Saddle Up!'s 20th anniversary year. Mantis is the first Umphrey's McGee album to consist entirely of material never previously performed on the road, where the band rules the improv-rock circuit and plays more than 100 shows each year. Although the band already plays numerous songs they have yet to record, sometimes you just have to hold back in order to deliver a bigger bang. Mystique, thy name is Mantis.
Founded in 1997 in The Shadows of the Golden Dome of Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana, Umphrey's McGee soon made Chicago home base, and set their sights on becoming one of the premier live acts in today's touring circuit. Over the course of the last ten years, the band has performed at festivals such as Bonnaroo and Lollapalooza, and continues to sell out shows in the nation's premier venues coast to coast. They have toured Europe multiple times and performed at Japan's Fuji Rock Festival in 2006. As their sound evolves with every passing show, the live concerts sold on their expansive music archive site UMLive.net continue to be in high demand by their hungry fan base.
