A horrible drought has settled on the desert plain, leaving the animals weak with thirst. Rabbit discovers a juicy pear tree, but it is guarded by a vicious tiger in no mood to share. Working together, the animals overcome this obstacle in a most unexpected way. Written for children by Dr. Jeff Obafemi carr, this musical is a heartwarming adaptation of an African folktale, infusing lessons on the importance of sharing and the value of diversity with original jazz and blues music your students will love. Suggested ages: best enjoyed by ages 3+. Lap Tickets are available in the theater lobby, day of show only, for children under 2 years of age.

The Art of Beer
April 7 - 6 PM
TPAC's War Memorial Auditorium - across from the 6th Avenue entrance to TPAC
$25
As adults we always need to continue to learn, and learning more about beer won't be a chore at The Art of Beer on April 7th, 2011. The Art of Beer is part of a tasting series at TPAC that benefits TPAC Education. Brewers and brewery representatives will guide us through a selection of High Gravity beers from Abita, Yazoo and Chimay. High Gravity Beer is a long-standing European tradition and is growing in popularity in the U.S. The term is used to designate specialty craft beers with an increased gravity "pull" in the fermentation process. They are higher in alcohol because they contain more sugar and other ingredients that are used to create complex, flavorful and unique beers. High gravity beers are meant to be sipped and appreciated, even paired with foods like wine.
