Just when you thought it was safe to fill the stockings by the chimney with care, Music City Theatre Company presents The Eight: Reindeer Monologues, a Christmas-themed theatrical diversion by playwright Jeff Goode, in which the eight reindeer - yep, those eight reindeer - dish about the real Santa Claus and all the accompanying scandals and hoopla that will have you talking about the big guy and his entourage until long past December 25.
Are all the stories true? Find out when you join the jingly troupe of outspoken reindeer as they discuss their sleigh-driver of a boss and reveal the stories behind all the personalities beyond the myth and legend: All those rumors you have heard about him and the elves? About Rudolph's little secret? About Vixen's story that was leaked to the press? All true, apparently, as the reindeer finally speak up - refusing to hold back!
Music City Theatre Company founder Bradley Moore directs the show (which is recommended for "mature" audiences) and acts, along with a star-studded ensemble of Nashville favorites, including Cat Arnold, David Arnold, Taylor Novak, Austin Olive, Jenna Pryor, Eric Ventress and Jennifer Whitcomb-Oliva.
The last Nashville show to open before the big day will be staged at the iconic Darkhorse Theatre Monday and Tuesday, December 21 and 22. Curtain's at 7:30 p.m. Monday, with showtimes at both 7:30 and 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Doors open 30 minutes prior to each performance. All tickets are "pay-what-you-will" and advance tickets are available at www.mctc.ticketleap.com. Music City Theatre Company accepts cash and all major credit cards.
A fundraiser for Music City Theatre Company, this is the company's 11th production. Founded by Moore in 2008, the company's mission is "to provide the Nashville community with thought-provoking, socially relevant work with a strong vision."
