The Boiler Room Theatre (BRT), Williamson County's original and longest running professional theatre company, continues its quest to bring fresh and innovative entertainment to middle Tennessee with its presentation of THE BOILER ROOM PRESSURE COOKER Round 2. Over three evening's: Thursday September 20th, Friday September 21st, and Saturday September 22nd. Three musicals over the course of three evenings will be presented and rated by the audience and by a panel of media and industry professionals. Immediately following the reading, there will be a ten minute talk back session where judges can give ideas and ask questions of the author and composer. The musical with the highest rating will receive a full production at the Boiler Room Theatre in the Lucky 13 Season. Show dates will be March 21-23, 2013.

The contest, which began earlier this year in March, presented 9 musical concepts chosen from a group of entries. Each team had thirty minutes to present the musical to an audience and panel. At the end of the evening, a panel of judges and audience voted via a secret ballot to determine the rating for each musical. At the end of the weekend, the ratings were tallied to determine that the top three finalist are City of Light by Michael McFaden, Happily Ever After...Not by Janet McMahan, and Umbrella by Steve Leslie.

Judges for the festival (at press time) include highly regarded local writers Jim Reyland and Ted Swindley; the four top theater critics in Middle Tennessee: Amy Prough Stumpfl (Tennessean), Evans Donnell (ArtNash), Martin Brady (Nashville Scene) and Jeffrey Ellis (BroadwayWorld Nashville). Judges also included are Tennessee Women's Theatre Project Artistic Director, Maryanna Clark, BRT managing director and senior show director Corbin Green, and BRT Artistic director Jamey Green. Green who developed the concept with Jim Reyland states, "It astonishes me that we have already completed round one. The musical theatre talent in Middle Tennessee is tremendous, and I believe we have only scratched the surface. In March we were blown and it will be a treat to see how these musicals have developed!"

Tickets are $15.00 and the Shows are at 8:00pm. Order tickets by calling 615-794-7744 or go to BoilerRoomTheatre.com.
