Street Theatre Company presents its original production of classic O. Henry stories, written and adapted for the stage by Nashville playwright Scott Hutcheson (of the recently produced Alice in Wonderland, a Musical), and presented for a holiday season run December 10-18.

This cast features 20 area teenagers and eight children, as well as Judy and Ken Jackson, two of Nashville"s favorite adult actors.

Headlined by the famous tale The Gift of the Magi, O. Henry's classic stories are known for their wit, wordplay, warm characterizations and clever twist endings. Set in the 1930s, audiences will meet Gran and Papa as they remember tales of living in the city before the turn of the 20th century.

"A caroling choir, warm apple cider, and tales of love, sacrifice and mercy are sure to make your season bright," according to Street Theatre Company's artistic director Cathy Street.

The production is directed by Hutcheson and Elaina M. Shaver ot www.nashvillesings.com.

Gift of the Magi & other Tales from O. Henry will be performed December 10 at 7 p.m., December 11 at 2 p.m., December 17 at 7 p.m. and December 18 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $5 for all ages, and purchasing tickets in advance is highly recommended at www.streettheatrecompany.org. For more information, call (615) 554-7414. Performances are at Street Theatre Company's new home, 1933 Elm Hill Pike, just off Briley Parkway.
