Street Theatre Company enters its 2017 season this February with a concert version of the crowd-pleasing, Broadway hit JEKYLL & HYDE. JEKYLL & HYDE will be the first part of Street Theatre's very popular and newly revived "Street Corner Concert Series." (The second, THE THREEPENNY OPERA, will be staged later this year.) The company's season premiere will be a stripped down, concentrated version of the hit musical, a show that focuses on Frank Wildhorn's sublime music and two-time Academy Award-winning Leslie Bricusse's fascinating book and lyrics.

JEKYLL & HYDE, a musical based on the horror novel by Robert Louis Stevenson, first opened to sold-out houses and wild critical acclaim in Houston, before moving to Broadway for the first time in 1997. The musical won numerous Tony and Drama Desk Awards, and was revived in 2013. The incredibly popular score includes hit songs such as "Someone Like You," "In His Eyes," and "This is the Moment," which has been covered over 1,000 times.

"JEKYLL & HYDE is a thrilling musical with a breathtaking pop-infused score," says Jason Tucker, Street Theatre Company's Artistic Director, who is directing the musical. "I chose it as the first of our concert series because I think it's the perfect way to highlight the score. A full-scale production of this musical is a massive undertaking, but presenting the show this way means we can hone in on the music."

Indeed, Tucker and Music Director Randy Craft have hand-picked some of Nashville's finest talent to bring the music of JEKYLL & HYDE to life. Among the 16-person cast are Ryan Greenawalt as Jekyll/Hyde, Kelly Hoppenjans as Lucy, and Mallory Mundy as Emma. The cast of musicians are backed by an 8-person orchestra, making this performance one of the most ambitious and exciting undertakings of the company's concert series to date.

JEKYLL & HYDE, the first performance of the Street Corner Concert Series, runs four nights only, February 2-4 at 7:30pm, and February 5 at 2pm. All tickets are $18, and are available by visiting streettheatrecompany.org, or by contacting the Box Office at (615) 554-7414.
