Street Theatre Company will perform the regional premier of Brooklyn: The Musical from October 26-November 10.

Brooklyn is a musical that wears its heart on its sleeve. The proud borough has a band of soulful homeless street corner singers living under the bridge. They tell a wondrous fairy tale about a young girl searching for fame and the father she never knew. She comes to the city that bears her name with only one clue. This whimsical show with a big heart is told by nine performers playing all the characters in the story about fame, family, faith, and fate. Brooklyn is a story that finds the lost child in all of us.

Mark Schoenfeld and Barri McPherson worked together on a record two decades before meeting again when McPherson spotted Schoenfeld in Brooklyn and learned he was now homeless and making his living as a street performing singing his "sidewalk fairy tales". Schoenfeld then went to live with McPherson and her husband, and the pair began to write and compose his songs into Brooklyn: The Musical.

Street Theatre Company's cast features Hallie Long as Brooklyn, Terrell Hunt as the Street Singer, Brooke Leigh Davis as Paradice, Teal Davis as Taylor Collins, Carly Rose as Faith, Kaylea Fezza as Diana, Sydney Hooper as Melba, and Tyler Inabinette and Mindy Tolbert as The Weeds.

Street Theatre Company's production team includes Bakari King (director), Randy Craft (musical director), Will Scroggins (Lighting Designer), Danielle McKinney (Stage Manager), Sarah Levis (Properties Master), Jacob Allen (Sound Designer), and Sawyer Wallace (Set Designer).

Brooklyn: The Musical performs at The Z. Alexander Looby Theater, 2301 Rosa L Parks Blvd, Nashville, 37208.
