Street Theatre Company brings Broadway's beloved Jesus Christ Superstar as part of its now-famous in Concert series, September 5-14. This hit follows the gospel account of the last years of Jesus Christ. Brought to life by the sensational music of Andrew Lloyd Webber, the five-time Tony-nominated musical will be presented at Street stripped down to its funky rock-and-roll roots.
Jesus Christ Superstar runs at Street Theatre Company (1933 Elm Hill Pike) September 5 through 14, with special performances at Holy Trinity Church on September 19 and 20. Tickets range from $18 to $24 with a pay-what-you-can option on Sundays. For more information and to purchase tickets, visit www.streettheatrecompany.org or call 615-554-7414. Street Theatre Company is supported by Metro Nashville Arts Commission and the Tennessee Arts Commission.
As always, Artistic Director Cathy Street, who will direct Jesus Christ Superstar, has cast performers from Nashville's incredibly talented pool; the show stars Randy Craft in the title role, Jimmy Saiz as Judas, and Erica Lee Haines as Mary. The three-weekend-only performance features cherished songs such as "Everything's Alright," "I Don't Know How to Love Him," and "Superstar," and is led by musical director Rollie Mains and a six-piece band.
Street Theatre Company is a non-profit arts organization dedicated to fostering professional, affordable, and accessible theater, music, and arts education in Nashville.
