Beginning Thursday, June 14, Nashville Children’s Theatre will play host to the Golden Dragon Acrobats for four performances through Sunday, June 17.

The Golden Dragon Acrobats represent the best of a time-honored tradition that began more than 25 centuries ago. They are recognized throughout the United States and abroad as the premiere Chinese acrobatic touring company of today.

“While NCT doesn't traditionally present productions,” says NCT managing director Kathryn Colegrove, “we were intrigued by this opportunity to work with Art Fegan and continue serving family audiences over the summer. With the reputation of Golden Dragon Acrobats solidly rooted in a commitment to the highest of production values and an attention to artistic details that is unparalleled in the art form, this presentation is a treat for the whole family and a wonderful compliment to NCT's mission of inspiring imagination, developing creativity, and building community in Middle Tennessee.”

With a performance history dating back to 1967, Golden Dragon Acrobats is described as “a passionate troupe of physical artists—having performed around the world and in all 50 states.”

“World renowned impresario Danny Chang and choreographer Angela Chang combine award-winning acrobatics, traditional dance, spectacular costumes, ancient and contemporary music and theatrical techniques to present a show of breathtaking skill and spellbinding beauty,” according to a prepared statement.

The Golden Dragon Acrobats will perform Thursday, June 14 at 6:30 p.m.; Saturday, June 16 at 2 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.; and Sunday, June 17 at 2 p.m.

On Saturday, June 16, JONBALAYA and other food trucks will be on site for audience members  who wish to eat after the 2 p.m. performance or before the 6:30 p.m. performance.

Tickets are $24 for adults; $12 for children; and $22 for seniors. Parties of ten or more qualify for discounted tickets: $20 for adults, $10 for children. Tickets can be purchased by phone at 615-252-4675 or online at www.nashvillechildrenstheatre.org.
