Playwright/director Ted Swindley helms a much-anticipated production of Tom Stoppard's Arcadia, presented by Blackbird Theater at Nashville's David Lipscomb University's Shamblin Theatre February 25-March 12.
Swindley's cast includes Denice Hicks, Amanda Card-McCoy, David Compton, Jeff Boyet, Wes Driver, Britt Byrd, Scott Rice and Brad Forrister. Curtain is at 7 p.m. for all performances.
According to a press release from Blackbird's artistic director Greg Greene: "Tom Stoppard is arguably the world's greatest living playwright, winner of an Academy Award and four Tonys. And Arcadia is almost universally recognized as his masterpiece. A rapturous and intellectually vigorous play about nothing less than the nature of truth and time and the difference between the scientific and poetic mind, Arcadia moves back and forth between two time periods (1809 and 1995) and two fascinating sets of characters sharing the same country house. It's a clever mystery, a lovely romance, and a delicate waltz of grand ideas."
Tickets are on sale now through the Lipscomb University box office at (615) 966-7075. For further details, visit the company website at http://BlackbirdNashville.com/ or find Blackbird Theater on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/blackbirdnashville.
