Seussical the Musical, directed and choreographed by Kari Smith, opens tomorrow night - Friday, February 13 - at Lipscomb University's Collins Alumni Auditorium.
Now one of the most performed shows in America, Seussical is a fantastical, magical, musical extravaganza! Tony winners Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty (Lucky Stiff, My Favorite Year, Once On this Island and Ragtime) have lovingly brought to life all of our favorite Dr. Seuss characters, including Horton the Elephant, The Cat in the Hat, Gertrude McFuzz, Lazy Mayzie and a little boy with a big imagination--Jojo. The colorful characters transport us from the Jungle of Nool to the Circus Mcgurkus to the invisible world of the Whos.
Kari Smith directs and choreographs the Lipscomb University Department of Theatre production, with Emily Eytchison as assistant director, Katie Veglio as production stage manager, Taylor Wood as assistant stage manager and hair and makeup design under the direction of Bekah Purifoy.
The show runs February 13 and 14, 20 and 21 at Collins Alumni Auditorium on the Lipscomb campus in Nashville. Curtain is at 7:30 p.m. each evening. Matinee performances are Sundays, February 15 and 22 at 3:30 p.m.
