Notes for Notes and Boys & Girls Clubs of Middle Tennessee officially celebrate the Grand Opening of Nashville, Tennessee's second MusicBox Studio. "MusicBox Studio 93" is a professional-grade recording studio environment that offers a place for youth to learn about playing and producing music with the help of musician-mentors.
"This studio marks another location in our growing network that will allow youth to collaborate digitally on music across town and the country," said Philip Gilley, the executive director of Notes for Notes. Both Nashville studios differ slightly in configuration and resources, creating opportunities for youth to move between both locations to accomplish their music goals while also introducing them to new friends and potential collaborators."
We are excited to have the opportunity to partner with Notes for Notes to provide our Club members with the revamped Music Box Studio 93 at the Preston Taylor Clubhouse. Providing a platform for Club members to express their creative energy through the arts is critical to their cognitive development and may be the spark to a new career pursuit." said Dan Jernigan, President/CEO of Boys & Girls Clubs of Middle Tennessee.
Come by the Preston Taylor Boys and Girls Clubs (915 38th Avenue North) for the following events:
4:30-5:30 Pre-Event Press Hour
5:30-7:30 Grand Opening: Performance by Casme' Barnes, formerly of B.o.B.
For more than 109 years, Boys & Girls Clubs of Middle Tennessee (BGCMT) has enabled all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, and responsible citizens. Annually, more than 2,000 youth walk through the doors of the five Middle Tennessee Boys & Girls Clubs. Clubs are located in Davidson & Williamson counties. Clubs provide a safe place, professional caring staff, fun
and friendship, and high-impact youth development programs on a daily basis during critical non-school hours. Priority programs emphasize academic success, good character and citizenship, and healthy lifestyles. Notes for Notes provides youth with free access to musical instruments, instruction and music making environments so that music can become a profoundly positive influence in their lives. Notes for Notes was founded by two friends who met while volunteering in Santa Barbara, California. The organization was formed through a desire to give back to the community. After nine months of development with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Santa Barbara a major collaborative and strategic partnership was developed with the Boys and Girls Clubs
which has led to an on-going relationship and the development of additional locations. Notes for Notes has five MusicBox Studios, three in California and two in Nashville. For more information, visit www.notesfornotes.org.
